No previous martial arts or athletic experience is required. Tama Jiu Jitsu welcomes complete beginners as well as experienced and competitive practitioners.
Beginners start with an introductory private lesson before joining a group class. After the introductory lesson, beginners can take advantage of a free one-week trial to become familiar with the academy and training environment.

Yes. Tama Jiu Jitsu offers adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for different experience levels, including both Gi and No-Gi training.

Yes. Kids’ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are available throughout the week. The program helps young students develop technique, confidence, discipline, and perseverance in a supportive environment.

Gi classes are practiced in the traditional Jiu-Jitsu uniform, which can be used for grips and techniques. No-Gi classes are generally practiced in athletic clothing, such as a rash guard, shorts, or spats, and use techniques that do not depend on gripping the uniform. Tama Jiu Jitsu offers both styles.

For Gi classes, students may wear a white, black, or blue Gi. Uniforms must be clean, odor-free, and free of rips or tears.
For No-Gi classes, men may wear shorts with a Tama Jiu Jitsu team rash guard. Women may wear shorts or spats with a Tama Jiu Jitsu team rash guard. All No-Gi students are expected to wear the team uniform.

Yes. Tama Jiu Jitsu has a private strength and conditioning area called The Den. It includes free weights, barbells, bumper plates, a squat rack, and an AssaultBike. The Den is available exclusively to members upon request.
